Insight Elaboration

In my opinion, the most critical stage of a design process is getting meaning out of the chunks of research results and deciding on how to move on with them. I see the phase of "insight elaboration" as deciphering complex user contexts to extract users’ behaviors, real needs and pain points then transforming them into actionable insights. Generally, in my design process I use an iterative approach where I define strategic and pivotal insights when moving from one phase to the next.

Clustering & Redefining

Whether digital or physical, I cluster the information or quotes gained from the research to identify repeating themes and redefine insights.

Journey Map

I use journey maps to define the full experience of the users and especially for defining the pain points of an existing product / service. It is also helpful when comparing the current product / service with the aspired one.

Persona

Through creating persona based on my research results, I better empathize with different types of user and define their specific needs from the product / service.

User Flow Diagrams

I use user flow diagrams to identify the flow and paths of users with different aims within a product / service as well as seeing the interactions between various components of a design or different user types
